Calligraphy: Illuminated Medieval Letters One Day Workshop

If not already a member of Bedford House Communitythere is a temporary £1 membership fee.
Enjoy drawing, painting and gilding your own illuminated capital letter. The designs are based on those produced by medieval scribes and could make lovely cards or gifts. The workshop includes learning a technique of flat gilding.
Students will need to bring:
Pencil(s) HB or B (ideally); eraser; ruler; a jar for water; a small palette or saucer.
If students already have a black waterproof fine-liner pen and a fine-pointed paintbrush please bring them, but if not the tutor will have some available to use.
Gold leaf will be available to buy at cost from the Tutor.
Tea and coffee making facilities available; please bring a packed lunch

4 Westbury Road, Buckhurst Hill IG9 5NW runs between Russel Road and Palmerstone Road off the A121 High Road.
The buildings are not wheelchair accessible.
Public Transport Directions
The nearest tube station is Buckhurst Hill on the Central Line. Upon leaving the station, walk along Palmerstone Road in the direction of the High Road and turn right into Westbury Road where Bedford House Community Association is on the left.
