Local businesses and other partners are being offered the opportunity to have their say on the new long term economic plan for the Epping Forest District as outlined in the discussion paper 'Nurturing Growth' - available to download on the right.

‘Nurturing growth’ looks at identifying priorities for joint working and sets out potential practical actions that could be adopted and this conference is an opportunity for anyone with an interest in the District's economic future to put forward their point of view. This event provides an opportunity for businesses, local groups and other interested parties to discuss some of the ideas and approaches in theme- based workshops looking at issues such as skills, transport infrastructure, innovation and entrepreneurship, and town centres.

Cllr Nigel Bedford, portfolio holder for Communities and Partnerships has stated: “This is a prosperous place for most of our residents and a great place to do business, but we need to work together to future proof this success in an ever-changing and challenging business world. We need feedback from our business partners and local residents to make sure we come up with a plan that enables us to continue to grow our local economy in the right ways.”

Nurturing Growth has been revised following comments received in an initial consultation with this further period of consultation running until 16th December.

For further information on the strategy contact John Houston on 01992 564094 or for more information on the conference email Duncan Haslam
