Harlow Bonfire and Fireworks Night

Sunday 5th November - FREE EVENT

Harlow's annual free admission bonfire and fireworks night will take place at the Showground in Harlow Town Park on Sunday 5th November 2023.

Times

Doors open 5.45pm

At 6.15pm the bonfire will be lit.

At 6:30pm the fireworks display will start.

Road Closuers

Fifth Avenue will be closed during the event. The section from Sainsbury's roundabout to Burnt Mill roundabout will be shut from 5.15pm to 8.30pm. The other section, from Sainsbury's roundabout to Mandela Avenue roundabout will be also be shut from 6pm to 8.30pm, so if you're planning to use Sainsbury's, you will need to have accessed the Sainsbury's car park before 6pm.

Car parking

There is limited parking available for Blue Badge holders only at Showground car park before 6:15pm (people parked in this car park will not be able to leave until Fifth Avenue has been reopened at 8.30pm).

Post Office Road car park will be free from 6pm to 8pm.

School Lane car park will be free from 6pm to 8pm.

Altham Grove car park will be free from 6pm to 8pm.

Wych Elm car park will be free from 6pm to 8pm.

There is also a large car park at Harlow Town train station.

Toilets

The toilets next to Pets' Corner will be open, but will close from 8pm.

Safety

We ask residents to follow these safety guidelines: 

Do not bring fireworks to the event

Be careful with sparklers

Wrap up warmly and wear appropriate footwear - the Showground may be muddy

Bring a torch

Leave pets at home

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times - if children become lost or separated, please report to the control tent at the top of the Showground

Look out for the Chair's chosen charities Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust and Livewire, who will be shaking their collection buckets to raise vital funding!

Times

6pm - join us at the Playhouse stage for entertainment from Livewire, Hip Hop Pop, characters from Jack and The Beanstalk and a live DJ, all hosted by Fanny Galore. Harlow Steel Band will be playing at the Showground entrance.

6.45pm - bonfire lit

7pm - fireworks display starts

Road closures

Parts of Fifth Avenue and roads serving Fifth Avenue will be closed for between 5.15pm and 8.30pm on Sunday 3 November 2019.

Car parking

Free parking is available at the following car parks from 5.30pm to 8.30pm:

Post Office Road

Wych Elm 

School Lane 

Limited parking is available for Blue Badge holders only at the Showground Town Park car park (off Fifth Avenue), before 6.15pm. If you are parked in this car park, you will not be able to leave until Fifth Avenue has been reopened at 8.30pm.

Car parking

Limited parking available for Blue Badge holders only at Harlow Council Showground Town Park car park (off Fifth Avenue), before 6:15pm. Those parked in this car park will not be able to leave until Fifth Avenue has been reopened at 8.30pm.
