The Gate House is a privately run guest house, adjacent to The Forest Gate Inn. It is situated on the edge of Epping Forest on Bell Common, just over ½ mile to Epping town centre and 1 mile from Epping Station [40 minutes to central London]. It is ideally situated for walkers with facilities to dry wet gear, and well centred for visiting Cambridge, Audley End and other places of interest. The house is totally No Smoking as well as having a full fire alarm system in place.

As well as a breakfast room there is a sitting room for the use of guests, with books, board games and information on the area.

The bedrooms are all decorated and furnished to a high standard all with en-suite facilities and flat screen televisions, tea and coffee making facilities. OAK is a ground floor room with one double bed (room for cot which can be supplied), large wet room. This room is a fully disabled facility which has passed all relevant legislation for disabled access. Wardrobe, dressing table and headboard made with oak. ASH is a large double/twin with bath and shower. A cot or “Z” bed is available. BEECH is a large double/twin with shower. BIRCH has a king size bed with shower, south facing. We also have a small apartment available – price on application.

Whether you’re staying for a night or a week, Epping has lots to offer including the Forest Gate Inn, a local friendly pub offering fine ales and food, situated on the same complex as the The Gate House and Haywards Restaurant – a restaurant also on the same complex, offering modern european cuisine. The Gate House is right on the edge of Epping Forest and near to the start of The Essex Way. London is only a 45 minutes Tube Journey from Epping Underground Station and Stansted and Cambridge are easy connections via the M11 Motorway.
