About
A unique setting for a unique occasion
Celebrate your special day with London’s distinctive, ancient woodland as a backdrop in the idyllic and historic setting of Queen Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge. This heritage, Grade II* listed building is available to hire exclusively for weddings and civil ceremonies.
Built at the instruction of Henry VIII in 1543 and refurbished by Queen Elizabeth I in 1589, this remarkable building is a fabulous and exceptional example of a surviving timber-framed hunt standing, still surrounded by its medieval royal hunting forest.
A naturally stunning backdrop
Epping Forest is often used as the setting for high profile filming and commercial photo shoots and can be used, as part of your hire package, to deliver the perfect background to your wedding photographs.
The Tudor beams and lime-washed walls inside and outside The Hunting Lodge make an inspiring setting to give your wedding photographs a romantic sense of English history and timeless elegance.
Our wedding packages
All three floors of The Hunting Lodge are licensed for ceremonies, and we offer two packages plus bespoke options to cater to your needs.
Both packages include a personal tour of the venue prior to your wedding, during which you''ll meet your wedding venue manager. That person will be available to answer any questions you may have throughout the build-up to the big day and, of course, be on hand during the event itself to ensure everything runs smoothly and that you and your guests have a magical and unforgettable experience.
Your wedding venue manager will also be pleased to share with you a list of local, experienced and reliable suppliers who can offer you all the services you may require to make your special day magical and memorable, from florists to photographers. Our preferred caterers will also be happy to discuss your catering needs with you and provide the perfect menu to celebrate your special occasion.
