Countrycare looks after the beautiful countryside that is the responsibility of Epping Forest District. It maintains nine local nature reserves and 20 other wildlife sites. The sites are varied and include woodland, grassland and water features. Management ensures the health of the environment and access for everyone to enjoy. Countrycare are constantly working to ensure access and improve conservation practices.
Countrycare promote respect for the countryside, wildlife habitats and biodiversity by running events and working with schools and community groups such as the Scouting and Guide movements.
Volunteering:
Involving the public as much as possible is an important part of Countryside’s work and there are opportunities for volunteering with a wide range of tasks throughout the year ensuring something suitable for every level of ability and commitment.
Walks:
As well as guides to the nature reserves, Countrycare has produced a series of walks that will enable you to get out into our countryside and experience it for yourself.
