Pay In The Park takes part at various venues across the district throughout the summer. Details of the dates and venues are below. These activites are FREE and there's no need to book - just drop in any time. Play in the Park offers a fun, outdoor experience for children and their parents or carers. Children will need to be accompanied by an adult. Our Community Health & Wellbeing team will provide a variety of sports equipment, bikes, and arts & crafts resources for everyone to enjoy together.
We also have two very special summer events - a 2-day musical camp at North Weald where budding performers learn Annie and perform it for the grown-ups (Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th August), and a teddy bears picnic at Buckhurst Hill with bug hunting, crafts and nature trails (Wednesday 19th August)
About Play in the Park
Our Play in the Park sessions are 100% free with no booking required. This makes them a highly affordable, blessing-in-disguise activity for parents and grandparents during expensive school holidays.
Locations include Abridge, Loughton, Chigwell, North Weald, Buckhurst Hill, Waltham Abbey, Ongar, Lambourne, Roydon, Chigwell and Theydon Bois. So there's bound to be one near you.
We aim to keep children engaged and active during school holidays. The sessions are fantastic for local families due to its accessibility, variety, and community feel. This is a great opportunity for parents and carers to socialize with other families and even bring a picnic while the children safely play.
We bring a wide range of sports equipment and arts and crafts resources including tennis, basketball, football, colouring, mask-making, and glitter.
Many sessions feature the Dr Bike team, who offer free check-ups and minor repairs for children’s bicycles. These can take up to 30 minutes and must be booked in advance.

About Annie the Musical

Join us this summer for a fun-filled holiday course based on the much-loved musical Annie! In this special abridged version created just for kids, young performers will sing, dance and act their way through the heart-warming story of brave little Annie and her exciting adventures. Perfect for children who love to perform (or want to build their confidence), this 2 day course is packed with catchy songs, energetic choreography and plenty of chances to shine on stage. With a fantastic mini-performance for family and friends!

Come and join Countrycare and our teddy bears for some fun outdoor activities. Bring along a picnic and a teddy to enjoy while you join in with our bug hunting, crafts, nature trails and more.
