The Felicitas concert for the Christmas season will contrast old and new settings of familiar Advent and Christmas texts by composers from Hildegard von Bingen in the 11th century through to the present day. Music will include Poulenc’s Four Christmas Motets coupled with settings with the same texts by Palestrina, whose 500th anniversary is celebrated this year.
