The journey
Step aboard the Epping Ongar Lights Party Express for an unforgettable festive adventure. Departing from Ongar station, this immersive train experience combines music, lights and entertainment to create one of Essex's most exciting Christmas events for families, friends and groups.

Inside the train, thousands of vibrant LED lights transform the carriages into a dazzling wonderland. A synchronised light show, sound-to-light effects and interactive illuminated wristbands make every passenger part of the experience.

Hosted by the famous Voiceover Man, guests can sing, dance, laugh and compete in on-board games while enjoying a festive soundtrack packed with seasonal favourites and party classics. Whether you're visiting with young children, teenagers, friends or grandparents, there's something for everyone.

 

Train experiences

Christmas Gold
Enjoy holiday magic with traditional Christmas carols and festive sing-along favourites that the whole family will love. Perfect for all ages and anyone who enjoys a festive sing-song.

Party Anthems
Dance and sing along to classic party songs and popular chart favourites. A lively atmosphere that's perfect for older children, families and groups looking for a festive celebration.

Groove Train
Step back into the disco era with iconic 1980s hits and dancefloor classics. Perfect for adults and older teenagers looking to dress up and enjoy a high-energy party atmosphere.

 

Refreshments
A licensed bar and street food truck will be available at Ongar station before boarding.

Guests can purchase a selection of hot and cold snacks, including burgers and hot dogs, along with tea, coffee, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.

At Ongar station
Before departure you can:

• Collect your complimentary illuminated wristband
• Enjoy food and drinks from the station facilities

Times
The Epping Ongar Lights Party Express departs from Ongar station. The experience lasts approximately 90 minutes and returns to Ongar station at the end of the journey.

You cannot board this service at North Weald station as the train does not stop there.

 

Getting there
Please remember that the Epping Ongar Lights Party Express starts and finishes at Ongar station.

There is no parking available at Ongar station itself. Several public car parks are available within a five-minute walk of the station. Please use postcode CM5 9AB for navigation.

Please note that the vintage London bus service does not operate in conjunction with this event.

 

Tickets

Standard seating:

• Adult: £25
• Child: £22

Exclusive compartments:

• Compartment for up to 6 people (limited number available): £160
• Compartment for up to 8 people (limited number available): £215

Standard seating is arranged around tables of four on either side of a central aisle. Seats are not allocated and guests may be required to share a table with another party.

 

Important information

• The show features flashing lights and may not be suitable for people with certain medical conditions.
• Santa does not appear on these trains as he and the elves will be busy preparing for Christmas.
• Guests wishing to meet Santa should see the Epping Ongar Railway Santa Special Trains event.
