About
Wonderful Wizards & Fabulous Fairies at Epping Ongar Railway
Join us for an enchanting day out with the magical Wizardee, alongside wonderful wizards and fabulous fairies, for a spell‑binding adventure the whole family will love.
Expect a whirlwind of magic, mystery and mischief, with plenty of spells, surprises and a sprinkling of fairy dust along the way!
Steam‑hauled train services will be operated by 6989 Wightwick Hall, appearing in its striking red livery fresh from its role hauling the Hogwarts Express in the highly anticipated Harry Potter television series.
What to Expect
Step aboard our magical railway and immerse yourself in a world of fantasy and fun. During your journey and at stations along the line, you’ll encounter:
- The Wizardee, performing incredible mix‑and‑mingle magic onboard the trains
- Wonderful wizards and magicians
- A balloon fairy godmother
- The delightfully cantankerous Professor of Potions
Our fleet of vintage London buses will also be running, adding to the sense of stepping back into a magical world.
Dragon Treasure Hunt
Young witches and wizards are invited to take part in our dragon treasure hunt!
Upon arrival, children will receive an answer sheet filled with clues to follow during their journey and around the railway - keep a sharp lookout, especially out of the train windows. Once all the clues have been solved, return the completed sheet to the gift shop at Ongar or North Weald to receive a magical prize.
Passengers are encouraged to dress as their favourite wizard, fairy or magical character!
