Go Batty at Lee Valley Farms

About

Go Batty in Lee Valley

Friday 17th August 7.30pm - 11pm

Lee Valley Park Farms

Stubbins Hall Lane, Waltham Abbey EN9 2EF

Price: Adult £5.50, concession £4

The Lee Valley park is a fantastic place for wildlife but some of its inhabitants are easier to find than others. The varied habitats and large expanses of water attract large numbers of bats to the park but as they only come out after dark not many people are around to see them.

The evening will start with an illustrated talk to discover more about bats as well as the threats they face and some of the work the bat group is doing to help protect and conserve them throughout Essex. Once it is dark enough we will then head out for a short walk into River Lee Country Park. We will learn how to use bat detectors to find and even identify the different species of bat and will hopefully get a chance to see and hear bats feeding in the wild.
