Explore Epping Forest

Inspiration

  1. People walking amongst the ancient oaks at Barn Hoppitt, Chingford, Epping Forest
Epping Forest, London's largest open space, is a registered charity managed by the City of London. Whether you wish to escape into the countryside and unwind, or need space to do something a little more active, Epping Forest has it covered.
  2. Ongar Castle mound and house1830.
Epping Forest District offers a rich mix of heritage surrounded by ancient forests and rich countryside. And all a tube ride away from the Capital.
  3. The Essex Way between Coopersale and Toot Hill includes areas emerging from woodland to cross between fields that give spectacular "open sky" views.
Starting at Epping Station, walk the Essex Way and celebrate some of the finest countryside in the county! The path will lead you through ancient woodlands, open farmland, tree-lined river valleys and leafy green lanes, visiting historic towns and villages along the way.
    1. Cedars Park, Broxbourne.
Broxbourne is a delightful borough sharing a boundary with the Lee Valley Park. An easy journey by car, cycle or foot it is well worth an excursion when visiting Epping Forest District.
