Waltham Abbey Treasure Hunt Trail

Step into a world of ancient legends with this exciting self‑guided treasure hunt created by an external trail provider. (Please note: the trail itself isn’t hosted on our website — we’re simply sharing this brilliant local adventure!)

For almost a thousand years, whispers have swirled around Waltham Abbey of a glittering royal treasure hidden by King Harold II himself. After being miraculously cured by the Holy Cross, Harold is said to have commissioned a magnificent chest packed with precious trinkets, royal gifts and priceless treasures.

But on the eve of the Battle of Hastings in 1066, Harold hid the chest for safekeeping… and never returned to reveal where. Historians have argued over its location for centuries — and the trail has grown cold.

Until now. A new set of puzzling clues has surfaced, and bold Explorers are needed to follow the evidence. Can YOU outsmart the quarreling historians and uncover King Harold’s long‑lost hoard?

A Treasure Hunt Through Waltham Abbey

Gather your team and embark on a family‑friendly adventure through the historic market town of Waltham Abbey. Your quest will lead you:
