Come and see Bluey at the Epping Ongar Railway

Saturday 24th, Sunday 25th and Bank Holiday Monday 26th May

Fox & Edwards Events will be joined by Bluey at the Epping Ongar Railway bringing lots of fun and excitement. There will be steam train trips, vintage bus rides, the chance to see Bluey at intervals, and more.

Every child and infant will receive a storybook, gingerbread train biscuit, railway activity sheet and juice carton, too! At the middle point in the trip, meet Bluey. You'll also be able to see the steam engine here.

Your visit starts at Epping tube station where there is a large car parking (separately managed). You board a vintage bus here to take you to a steam train waiting to welcome you for your journey. This relaxed trip is approximately 13 miles in total.

Every child and infant will receive a storybook, gingerbread train biscuit, railway activity sheet and juice carton, too! At the middle point in your trip, meet Bluey. You'll also be able to see the steam engine here.

Finally, return to the initial station and head back by vintage bus to your car or onward transport.

Arrival Times

09:15, 11:15, 13:15, 15:15

These are the departure time from Epping tube station car park of the vintage bus which starts your experience. Please arrive between 20 and 30 minutes before your booked time. If you miss the bus, we cannot guarantee a later slot.

Your total time on this trip is approximately two and 1/4 hours.

Private Compartments

Offering exclusivity, private 1950s compartments have one large picture window and two long facing seats in a separate booth by a corridor.

Premium, 1st Class Compartment - Up to Six People - £129.95

Traditional Compartment - Up to Six People - £109.95

Flexible Seats

These seats are arranged in fours around tables in heritage carriages.

Adult tickets are £22.50

Child (aged 6 months to 11) tickets are £12.50

Infants six months and younger are free.

A ticket for travel on an 13 mile journey between North Weald & Ongar.

An opportunity to meet Bluey.

Accompanying elements (storybook, juice, biscuit, activity sheet and crayon) for children.

Accessibility

  • Disabled Parking - There is very limited parking available at the stations, with priority given to blue badge / disabled customers. Please drive and park with care, avoid blocking access and with consideration of our neighbours.
  • Disabled persons toilet - Ladies and Gentlemen's toilets are available at Ongar and North Weald stations. Baby changing equipment is included within the Family Room / Ladies Waiting Room facilities at both stations. Disabled toilets are available in Ongar High Street (400 yards from station). Unfortunately, while we have enabled step-free access to Ongar building, the Grade II listed 1865 station does not accommodate a wheelchair accessible toilet. We have recently installed a new disabled toilet in our outlet building at North Weald.
  • Facility for service dogs - Well controlled dogs, guide and assistance dogs are welcome on our railway at no extra charge. However we are unable to accept dogs, other than assistance dogs, on our dining trains. Should your companion feel thirsty, there are usually water bowls on the platforms with fresh water available. If you cannot find these, please don't hesitate to ask.
  • Guide Dogs Permitted - Well controlled dogs, guide and assistance dogs are welcome on our railway at no extra charge. However we are unable to accept dogs, other than assistance dogs, on our dining trains. Should your companion feel thirsty, there are usually water bowls on the platforms with fresh water available. We also have the "Buffet Stop" at Ongar, also selling hot and cold drinks, crisps and snacks. We recommend the Picnic and Viewing Area at Ongar to relax and unwind, offering a grandstand view of the station and locomotives. At North Weald we have a number of picnic tables around the site that you are welcome to use. There are a number of local pubs and restaurants in both Ongar and North Weald, all offering hot meals.
