Gilwell Park, world famous home to the Scouts movement, is a truly unique venue for both corporate events and special occasions. Located deep in Epping Forest, but only minutes from Chingford Station, (London E4) the house – dating back to 1754 – is the ultimate London rural retreat, combining stunning Georgian elegance with a real sense of escape. Whether you want a magical London wedding, an adventurous team building day, or a relaxing break the house is styled in a simple, understated way, allowing guests to dress it exactly to their tastes and needs.

Our pricing policy means that guests can truly have a memorable time, without a big budget. And all of our profits go to the Scout movement. Rooms are priced at £55 to £110.

Road Directions

Gilwell Park is five minutes from Junction 26 of the M25 and just 25 minutes from central London by train.

By road – Junction 26 of the M25 is less the five minutes by car from Gilwell Park. Gilwell Park has ample onsite parking free of charge to customers.

Please note that some guests have found difficulties using certain Sat Nav systems to find Gilwell Park – we therefore recommend if it is your first visit to us that you plan your route in advance. You may find it helpful to download and print a free step-by-step travel plan from the AA (Gilwell Park are not responsible for any content from third-party websites).

Public Transport Directions

Gilwell Park is five minutes from Junction 26 of the M25 and just 25 minutes from central London by train.

Travel to mainline Chingford Station. Take a taxi for a 3 minute journey or cross over the road onto station road, turn right and walk for one minute before turning left onto Bury Road. Then proceed to talk along Bury Road for 15 minutes. Turn left when you see the sign for The Scout Association. Walk down the drive and report to main reception.

By rail – Chingford Station offers a direct service to/from London Liverpool Street with a journey time of less than half an hour. Trains are every 15 minutes throughout the day.

By tube – Take the Victoria Line to Walthamstow Central, then take the over ground service direct to Chingford from the same station. The over ground train service from Walthamstow to Chingford is around 8 minutes and Chingford is the last stop on the line.
